Global Methodist Church

Parkview Church is part of the Global Methodist Church (GMC), founded on the belief in the Holy Trinity and the teachings of John Wesley.
Supported by fervent prayers, faithful discernment, and a sure hope for the future, the Global Methodist Church is a Holy Spirit inspired movement. Through our ministries, we desire to share the whole counsel of God with all peoples and to advance the presence and fulfillment of the Kingdom of God in every part of the world and at all levels of societies and cultures. The Global Methodist Church is committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the inspiration and authority of the Scriptures, and the work of the Holy Spirit in conveying God’s truth and grace to all people.
Mission
The Global Methodist Church exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ and spread scriptural holiness across the globe.
Vision
Through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, the Global Methodist Church envisions multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ throughout the earth who flourish in scriptural holiness as we worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.

Parkview is part of the Allegheny West Conference.
The Allegheny West Annual Conference serves all of Ohio and the Western third of Pennsylvania. As a Conference of the Global Methodist Church, our purpose is to connect clergy and laypeople in our region for shared ministry and accountability. We’re here to share knowledge and assist local churches, and to equip ministries and support the planting of new churches. We’re excited about what God is doing in our region already and look forward to welcoming hundreds more churches and clergy into the Conference from throughout Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
Lay Equipping Opportunities

Awaken is the foundation of our lay equipping movement and certified lay ministry training, but it is open to everyone (lay and clergy alike). Participating in our Friday night-Saturday Awaken event helps people identify the particular areas in which they would like to be equipped.
Each Awaken event is focused on:
-
Encountering God through worship and teaching about a life shaped by discipleship
-
Learning about abiding in God through spiritual disciplines through preaching and a workshop
-
Learning about being devoted to God as we bear spiritual fruit and use our spiritual gifts in the places God calls us

Equipping Sessions are one-day trainings offered throughout the Allegheny West Conference at regional locations. The aim of each training is to equip the saints for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12), as we learn from practitioners and leaders in our annual conference.
Some of them are required for lay ministry certification and will be offered multiple times in regional locations throughout the year.
All of our equipping sessions are open to everyone! Topics range from Bible Basics and Band Meetings to Evangelism and Church Leadership.
